Break dancing is one of the most popular Hip Hop dance forms and has been featured on all the latest streetdance films including Step Up and Streetdance 3D. Breakdancing aka B-Boying was created in New York City in the early 1970's in nightclubs where dancers would drop on the break of the track. Breakdancing consists of footwork movements, floor work, freezes and much more. The dance form has now evolved into one of the most impressive, technical and energetic dance forms around the globe with people from around the world battling it out for street reputations.
The Workshops
The Breakdancing workshops teach a variety movements including foundational moves such as top rock, 6 step, windmills and baby freeze. The tutor will also teach the history behind particular moves to give an insight into where the moves came from. A variety of dance routines will be taught including solo routines and group routines that encourage team work and leadership skills. The full day workshops also include contact and support work plus dance battles / freestyle circles and a demonstration from our professional Breakdance tutor.
