THE TUTORS
Our graffiti artists/tutors have years of experience behind them and are regularly working with councils and art organisations all over the UK, teaching people of all ages this expressive art. Outside of teaching our graffiti artists/tutors are busy showcasing their work in art galleries all over the UK, some charging over £5000.00 for their art pieces.
THE GRAFFITI WORKSHOPS
The workshop begins by participants learning about the history of graffiti, graffiti styles and the role it plays in the hip hop culture. Once the participants have learnt about the history and various styles pupils will start drawing up rough designs of what they would like to paint, usually representing their interests or hobbies.
After the designs are complete, participants will learn the skills and techniques involved in graffiti which is the key to a great final art piece. After the pupils have perfected their spraying techniques its time to start creating that all inspiring piece.
WORKSHOP SUMMARY
Overall this workshop is great fun, yet very creative. GRAFFITI WORKSHOPS COURSE

THE HISTORY OF GRAFFITI ART
Graffiti art began around the mid 60's but sprang to life in the 1970's and 1980's with various artists working on New York trains throughout dark nights. Graffiti art played a big part in the Hip Hop movement that swept the USA in the 1980's alongside elements such as B-Boying (Breakdancing), Popping and Locking and MCing. Graffiti artists used graffiti art to express their opinions and thoughts and also displayed their individual styles all over New York city in a cry to be heard.
Graffiti art is now a worldwide art form which can now be seen in Museums and Art Galleries all over the globe and here is your chance to participate in the Urban Edge graffiti workshops.
